Alexis Cancemi
Dr. Cancemi holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision and is a Florida State Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), a Florida State Qualified Supervisor (QS) for registered clinical mental health counseling interns pursuing licensure, an Oregon Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), an Oregon Approved Supervisor Candidate, a Certified Master’s Level Addiction Professional (CMAP), an Internationally Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (ICADC), a Certified Rapid Resolution Therapy Practitioner (RRT), a Certified Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) Practitioner, a World Trade Center Preferred Provider, and a Nationally Board Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist (NBCCH). Dr. Cancemi specializes in treating clients coping with substance dependence issues, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSS), and sexual trauma. Please note that due to recent events availability is limited and all appointments are telehealth or “virtual” only.
Cultural Humility, Privilege, and Empathy Building

This training focuses on the following objectives:
- Define the concept of cultural humility;
- Discuss the difference between cultural competence and cultural humility;
- Highlight the role cultural humility plays in social work practice;
- Explore the dynamics of difference;
- Reflect on the knowledge, skills, and attitudes which are associated with becoming culturally self-aware and valuing diversity;
- Increase awareness of unconscious cultural stereotypes, and the impact of these on service recipients.
